  • Haston Abdar, PhD

    Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

  • Dr. Abdar earned his PhD in Systems and Control Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, where he co-developed the original Adaptix Neuro concept. He brings over a decade of experience in biomedical systems engineering, electronics design, and embedded software development.

    Previously, he led multidisciplinary R&D teams at CTi Sensors, Inc., overseeing product development from concept through commercialization. A co-inventor on multiple U.S. patents, Dr. Abdar directs BioMotion’s product development, commercialization strategy, and operational execution.

  • Angela Ridgel, PhD

    Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer

  • Dr. Ridgel is Professor of Exercise Physiology at Kent State University and a nationally recognized expert in exercise-based interventions for Parkinson’s disease. With over 19 years of experience leading clinical studies, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications demonstrating the therapeutic benefits of motor-assisted cycling.

    At BioMotion, she oversees clinical study design, outcome validation, and translational research strategy to ensure Adaptix Neuro remains evidence-based and clinically impactful.

  • Kenneth A. Loparo, PhD

    Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

  • Dr. Loparo is an IEEE Life Fellow, AIMBE Fellow, and Arthur L. Parker Professor Emeritus at Case Western Reserve University. With more than 45 years of expertise in nonlinear systems, adaptive control, and stochastic modeling, he is internationally recognized for his contributions to control theory and biomedical engineering.

    He holds numerous U.S. patents and over 400 publications. At BioMotion, he leads adaptive control algorithm development and ensures the technical rigor and scalability of the Adaptix Neuro platform.

  • Fred M. Discenzo, PhD

    Co-Founder & Technical Advisor

  • Dr. Discenzo is a retired Rockwell Automation Fellow and former R&D executive with extensive experience translating early-stage technologies into commercially viable products. He holds over 70 U.S. patents and brings deep experience in product strategy, IP development, and commercialization pathways.

    He also serves as Vice President of the Ohio Parkinson Foundation Northeast Region, strengthening BioMotion’s connection to the Parkinson’s community.
